It was such an eye-opener to travel around Sabah and experience some of the many different cultures, each unique but all true to their heritage and crow-eyed from contentment, an incredible harmony of diversity that I have not seen elsewhere.Clarice Cheng

Capital and main gateway to Borneo, Kota Kinabalu is a small yet vibrant city with many natural wonders within easy reach. During the first 3 days you will visit the Kota Kinabalu museum, the wildlife park and a living head hunter's village. The Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park is a great way to relax and go for a swim or a snorkel, a dive or try many of the other activities available. The islands are beautiful, white sands, clear waters and some relaxing trekking through the rainforest.
A trip to Kudat, the northern most district of Sabah, lets you step back in time. Overnight in a traditional longhouse with the local Runggus tribe offers a great insight to a subsistence lifestyle that has hardly changed in hundreds of years. The tip of Borneo is a stunning area with pristine landscapes and very few inhabitants.
The Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Center is world famous and is a great place to see the orangutans in their natural environment. The rainforest in Sepilok is beautiful and there are lots of nature trails and exhibitions to guide you through your journey.
